Applying to St Paul's
Every St Paul's student and his parents come to St Paul's with a set of perceptions, hopes and concerns about what St Paul's is and how their son might become a part of the St Paul's community. At the most basic level, St Paul's provides opportunities. Opportunities to learn. Opportunities to grow. Opportunities to become a part of a vibrant community of students, parents, teachers, alumni and friends.
Preparing Students for University
More than 95% of St Paul's graduates continue in post-secondary studies. More than 38% of graduates of the Class of 2009 earned entrance scholarships to universities and colleges throughout North America.
A Safe and Nurturing Community
Self-respect and respect for and tolerance of others are expected behaviours, reinforced by a well-defined and transparent system of discipline. The St Paul's High School system of discipline takes into account the roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders: parents, as the primary educators of their children; teachers, as the day-to-day providers of a safe and supportive classroom; school administrators, in applying the system in a consistent and impartial manner; and the students, in taking responsibility for their actions and their inaction.
Growth of the Whole Person
The St Paul's graduate is the product of an education which combines academic, spiritual and social aspects. He learns that this process is lifelong, and that, as a result of his education, the friendships that he has made, the faith that he has developed, and the challenges he has risen to, he will continue to accept the responsibility to be "a man for others" throughout his life. St Paul's encourages individual responsibility and a commitment to help others, as well as the individual goal of excellence in the path the graduate follows in life.
A Tradition of Excellence
St Paul's High School is not just another independent school. St Paul's High School has been educating future leaders of the community since 1926. As a Jesuit school, St Paul's calls upon five centuries of Jesuit history and tradition as educators around the world. Today, more than 600,000 students are enrolled in Jesuit primary and secondary schools worldwide. St Paul's is a part of that Jesuit history, tradition and approach to education that has stood the test of time and whose common elements are found at schools across the centuries and across the world.
