Application Interviews
After an initial assessment of applicants, the interview stage of the admissions process begins. Applicants who will not be granted interviews will receive a letter indicating that they will not be granted an interview. Applicants who will be granted interviews will be contacted by email during the months of February and March (or by phone if an email address has not been provided) to schedule the interview.
Interviews will take place between February 13 and March 23. Most interviews will be scheduled Mondays through Thursdays between 3:30 pm. and 5:30 pm.
The interview will last between 25 and 40 minutes and will be conducted by a faculty member of the school.
The School hopes that both parents will be able to attend. Other immediate family members, a younger sister or brother for example, may attend the interview and be present in the interview with the family, particularly if this makes it more convenient for both parents to be present at the interview.
Please note that all supporting documents, including, if available, second term report cards, must be submitted prior to your son's interview.
It does take some time to schedule the large number of interviews that occur. The school asks your patience as we move through the interview stage.
Roughly half of the interview time includes the applicant and his parents together and the other half with the applicant alone.
Notes for Applicants preparing for their interview
- Please be on time. You should arrive 15 minutes before the start of the interview. This will allow for enough time for you to review the course option selection form, which will be given to you upon your arrival.
- The Applicant is expected to be dressed in a neat and respectful manner, although it is not required that they be dressed in the formal dress code of St Paul's High School. You can park in the visitor parking at the front of the school (enter off Grant Avenue) and then through the front doors of the school. The school reception desk is adjacent to these doors.
- Interview times are assigned in a random order according to the availability of St Paul's Faculty members. While the school will attempt to reschedule interviews as required, it is hoped that applicants to St Paul's will be available for an interview when requested.
