Jesuit Facts

Seven graduates of St Paul's went on to become Rhodes Scholars: Thomas Patterson (1978), Davide Panagia (1989), Rakesh Suri (1989), Marcello Panagia (1994), Daniel Lussier (2000), Michael Urban (2001) and Raed Joundi (2004).

Building Community

What is the difference between St Paul's High School and other schools? While the answer to this question begins with St Ignatius and the Jesuits, it does not end until you have described the myriad of ways in which the alumni and friends of St Paul's High School contribute, year after year, to the important work of building the St Paul's Community, the success of the school.

The St Paul's Community is strengthened through your generous commitment to event attendance, volunteering and giving.

As an alumnus or friend of St Paul's you remain a part of our community forever. Friendships made years earlier, maybe even dormant for many years, are instantly rekindled through event attendance or volunteering your talents. The stories are endless.

Making A Difference

Being a Person for Others. You can best honour St Paul's by striving to lead others into a more just society. You help build our community when you help build the community around you, your family, your business, and your community, those seen and those unseen.

Alumni Reunions and Homecoming

Attend your class reunion. You will not regret it. You will only regret not going when hearing later about what a great time it was! St Paul's High School organizes and/or assists alumni in organizing milestone reunions for their class. Former and current faculty join alumni in the tradition of class reunions and the celebration of years past and memories new.

Alumni Tournaments and Games

Participate as a volunteer or player in an Alumni Golf or Basketball Tournament or an Alumni Hockey or Soccer game. Whether you volunteer to help run the events or participate yourself this is a great way to keep in touch.

Alumni Association Executive

Contribute to the development of alumni events and initiatives at the school and in the wider community. Consider offering your time and talents to the Alumni Association Executive.

Alumni Coaches

Coach the Crusaders. Many alumni, some years as many as 20 or more, will return to St Paul's to coach or assist in coaching Crusader teams.

Alumni Faculty

Teach. For years, the Jesuit and lay faculty of St Paul's has included many alumni among their ranks.

Alumni Financial Contributions

Make a difference. St Paul's is committed to fostering personal responsibility and social justice. To that end, the School strives to ensure that all qualified applicants who are accepted can attend regardless of their ability to pay tuition. The Bursary Program exists and is able to fulfill this need because of the financial contributions of alumni and friends of the school.

The School is also indebted to alumni for their financial contributions to major capital maintenance, renovation and building projects. As an independent school, St Paul's is not eligible for financial grants from the Province of Manitoba related to these types of needs.

Alumni Mentors

For several years now, Steven Chipman '68 has been a very popular speaker at our Career Day event for current students; but, it was not until his father, Robert Chipman '44, was honoured with the Ignatian Challenge Award in 2006 that he discovered by way of his father's introduction at the dinner, that his father had himself been a Career Day speaker, 40 years earlier. The tradition of alumni speakers and mentors continues to today.
