Jesuit Facts

St Ignatius defines consolation as a spiritual, inner dynamic or movement that leads to an increase of trust, hope and love, a strengthening of the interior person, interior joy, peace and quiet, an invitation and attraction to what is good, and a greater solidarity with others.

Volunteering

Allow us to introduce our Alumni Leadership Team. Similar to our Giving Leadership Team, we have been working very hard to develop an alumni organizational structure and philosophy which reflect the importance of collaboration and inclusion in our St Paul's Community. This structure coupled with the right leadership, we believe, will allow us to maintain and enhance all that is good from the past and to build a strong and lasting foundation for the future. This group is charged with the responsibility of keeping our alumni and friends connected with the school.

Many of the events and activities that sustain and promote the mission of St Paul's High School rely upon volunteers. Depending upon the nature of the event or activity, these volunteers have been drawn from among students, alumni, faculty and employees, parents, and other supporters of the School. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Mr Randy Van de Mosselaer at (204) 831-2332 or Email.

Jurgen Feldschmid '84 – Chair, Alumni Board

The Alumni Committee of the Board makes its mission the establishment of an Alumni Association. Once this has been accomplished, the task of the Committee is to liaise between the Association and the Board of Directors.

The Committee is to insure that the main purpose of said Association is the fostering of the Alumni interest and continued support for the school as volunteers and coaches, for example. You cannot choose to become a member unless you are nominated and are accepted as a member of the Board.

Nick Louizos '97 – Chair, All Class Reunion Committee

The All-Class Reunion is the opportunity for alumni and teachers from all years to gather for an evening of school spirit, socializing, and chatting about the days of St. Paul's past, present, and future. This year's event will be held after Homecoming and will complete a day of exciting events at St. Paul's. We look forward to seeing you at one of the most anticipated evenings of the year, full of food and drink. Volunteers are welcome for the planning and execution of the event.

Rob Miln '88 – Chair, Alumni Association Committee

The Association is to work with the whole Alumni Leadership Team to ensure the quality of current events and to recommend possible additions.

The Association is to work in cooperation with the Advancement Office in the scheduling of and the execution of all Alumni events. The Advancement Office, in turn, will keep the Alumni records database up to date and it will make this information available to the Association for their Alumni purposes.

We hope you choose to join us.

Jason Kopytko '88 – Chair, Homecoming Committee

Homecoming is the biggest and best attended event on the St Paul's calendar. Festivities begin with an opening Mass followed by a BBQ, beer gardens, inflatable play structures for the children and two Crusader football games. We come together and celebrate our Crusader tradition and spirit and reunite with fellow classmates and school staff. Volunteers are required for the planning of the event and for the day of set up, clean up and food and beer services.

Shawn Alwis '00, Justin Bova '97 –Co-Chairs, Tribute Dinner Committee

St Paul's initiated the Ignatian Challenge Award in 1994 in order to recognize individuals within our community who embrace the ideals of St Ignatius Loyola and who reflect the characteristics and qualities inherent in a Jesuit education at St Paul's High School. Award recipients, through their leadership and commitment to service, become examples for our students of a lived faith and philosophy of becoming men and women for others. The awards are bestowed annually at the St Paul's High School Tribute Dinner.

We have two chairs, one from the honouree's business or family who best understands the needs and wishes of the honouree and one who best understands the needs and wishes of the St Paul's Community. Together with their committee they will help in the planning and the execution of this signature event. Committee members will be challenged to sell individual and corporate tables each year.

Kevin McCulloch '62 – Chair, Alumni Golf Committee

The Maroon & White Alumni Golf Tournament, begun in 1995, has brought together alumni and teachers, classmates and lifelong friends, in a day of competitive fun. Individual fees cover the cost of play and food. Around the 5th year, the tournament committee decided to create the Alumni Association Golf Bursary and to provide alumni the opportunity to sponsor holes in support of the bursary fund.

Committee members are asked to help plan and execute this popular event.

Sean Kavanagh '82 – Chair, Crusader Magazine Committee

The Crusader Magazine is published twice a year, in March and September. Along with our new and improved website it allows us to better communicate with all of our stakeholders. Members will have an interest in magazine design with a critical eye for improvement.

Each Chair is asked to form a committee. Overall, we would hope that every era of our school's history will be represented on our team. If you are interested in serving on any of the above committees please click on committee of your choice on the Online Giving Form. Volunteer today!
