Mike Benson ‘05
Mike is entering his 9th CFL season and is the proud owner and head strength coach of Pro Player U. Before signing with the Montreal Alouettes in January, Mike has also played for the Ottawa RedBlacks, BC Lions and Edmonton Eskimos. After studying Kinesiology at the University of Manitoba while playing for the Winnipeg Rifles, Mike then received an athletic scholarship at Acadia University, where he played two years of USport football and served as the school’s assistant strength and conditioning coach. Mike now spends his offseason working at his Winnipeg gym serving all sorts of clients from pro athletes to regular gym goers along with teaching Olympic weightlifting certifications/seminars and more. Mike is also a founding member of the Rising Stars Foundation, sits on the board of directors and serves as the foundation’s community coordinator.
Eric Vincent ‘06
Eric Vincent teaches French Immersion Chemistry and Physics at Sturgeon Heights Collegiate. A former Winnipeg Rifles and Manitoba Bison football player, he has been a pillar of the Football Community in Manitoba for the past decade. He has coached at almost every level of Football in the province, is an NCCP Learning Facilitator, sat on the Football Manitoba Board of Directors for two years and is currently the Executive Director of the Rising Stars Foundation, a newly-founded non-profit that helps support and mentor student-athletes in our community.
Daniel Militano ‘09
Daniel Militano graduated from St. Pauls High School in 2009 and then graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Education in 2017. He currently teaches grade 7/8 at Arthur E Wright in the Seven Oaks School division. For the last ten years, he has been on three boards (most currently the Rising Stars) and has coached a variety of sports (football and Volleyball). Danny is a founding member of the Rising Stars Foundation, sits on the board of directors and is the head of event planning.
