The Crusaders wasted no time hitting the podium at the first day of the MHSAA Provincial Track and Field Championship.
Jack Taylor got the party started as he won his first individual gold medal by winning the Varsity 1500m. A few hours later, Taylor anchored the gold medal winning team in the medley relay. Other members of the relay included Tristan Hutter, Thane Tomlinson and Nic Peters.
The JV boys also hit the podium with a bronze medal in the medley relay. Team members were Avery Stubbings, Sebastian Las, Te Jessie, and Scott Mann.
Day one consisted of mostly heats - and several Crusaders advanced to tomorrow's finals, they include:
Matt Indome - qualified for Long Jump and 100m final.
Nic Peters - qualified for 100m final
Trae Tomlinson - qualifed for 100m final (JV)
Robbie Gerstner - qualifed for Long jump final (jv)
Te Jessie - qualified for javelin final.
Harrison Cornick - qualified for shot put final.
