Robbie Gerstner (grade 10) made history today breaking the second oldest provincial track and field record in the books. Gerstner didn't just break the 47 year old record set in 1971 in the triple jump - he smashed it. Going in the competition, Gerstners best jump was 12.57cm. He jumped 13.02 in the qualifying. Then on his 6th and final jump unleashed his incredible 13.61 meters breaking the previous record by 25 cm (13.36cm).
An hour later Gerstner placed 2nd in the Long Jump with another personal best of 6.19 meters.
Congrats to Robbie who also played on the Crusader Provincial runner up volleyball and basketball teams. He is A+ student and an accomplished piano player.
