The varsity Crusader 'A' team came out strong and played a very good game against a tough and courageous young Raider squad. Although the team showed signs that more conditioning is in order, both forwards and backs scored early and often.  Thanks to the solid kicking and running of Chris Popel and the accurate and intelligent ball distribution of Noah Yagi the game was a great first step in a young season.  For most Crusaders this was their first real rugby game experience and yet the team looked and carried themselves well.  All players on the roster not only participated but also contributed and should be proud of their efforts.  Thanks to our alumni and volunteer coaches and all the family and fans that came out on what turned out to be a beautiful day for rugby at Maple Grove.
