In a replay of last years' championship game the Crusaders took on a talented and experienced SJR Eagles team at Maple Grove Rugby Park.  The Crusaders came out strong and spent much of the first half camped out in the SJR end but could not punch it in for a score.  Late in the half the Crusaders made some key mental errors giving the Eagle's two easy tries.

In the second half the Crusader forwards played a punished rucking and run game and began to give the backs clean possession.  Dominant lineout play helped give the Cru more possession and Cameron Teschuk capitalized with 2 beautiful runs for tries in the corners.

The Cru trailed 14-10 with only a few seconds left in the game and the backs did a beautiful job to advance the ball inside SJR's ten meter line, but ball mismanagement resulted in no score and the Cru ran out of time and ended the game with a 14-10 loss in a game that could have gone either way.  The Crusaders play Sisler at St. Paul's Monday May 9th at 5:00.
