Day 1 at the MHSAA Provincial Track and Field Championships saw a number of Crusaders in action.

Most of the day consisted of qualifying for the finals to be held over the next few days.

James Teschuk started strong by qualifying 2nd overall in the 400m. He will be very busy over the next few days running heats and finals in the 200m, 400m and 800m.

Stefan Hreno qualified 3rd overall in the junior boys long jump. He also just missed the 100m final by 4 1/100's of a second. His time of 11:82 was a personal best.

Regan Roche qualified for the shot put final with Jacob Stevens just missing the top 12.

Other competitors competing were Trevor Wright who came extremely close to making the high jump final.

Grade 9 runner Luc Deleau ran a personal best of 57.33 second in the 400m to narrowly miss the final.
