NewsHistoric Day at Provincial Cross Country Championships

Over 1300 athletes gathered at Kilcona Park to decide which school would be crowned the victors in the MHSAA Provincial Cross Country Championships. 

Today.. was a Crusader Day.

Individual Provincial Champion - Jack Taylor - Jack became the first Crusader in School history to win the Varsity Individual title. 

Details:

The Junior Varisty Team started the day off with a blast. The team was led by grade 10 speedster Scott Mann (5th) and followed by four grade 9's,  Maheep Reshie (10th) , Alex McMillan (11th) , and Nic and Matteo DeStafano (14th and 16th).  The team defeated the heavily favoured Garden City Gophers who were the defending provincial champions. Also counting for the Cru was JP Garcia and Avery StubbingsPaulo Cornejo also ran a great race. There were close to 200 runners in this race from over 40 schools.

 

Not to be out done, the Varsity Crusaders ran the race of their lives to pull off the Provincial Title. Led by grade 12 star Jack Taylor (1st), the rest of the team stepped up bigtime with Cory Frederickson (12th), Hockey Star Eric Fawkes (23th), Ryan William (25th), and Bryce Kristjansson (27th). Other members of the team were Kyle Chorney, Andrew Kaul and Chance Sabados. There were over 215 runners in this race from over 40 schools.

 

Congratulations to all the runners who trained hard over the season and raced their best today.
