Pope Benedict XVI deems 2008-2009
the Year of Saint Paul
(Inauguration of the Bimillennium of the Birth of St Paul—28 June 2008 to 29 June 2009)
Pilgrimage to Italy!
As part of the celebrations of the bimillennium of the birth of our patron, St Paul, Archbishop James Weisgerber will be with us 23 June to open the Year by presiding at our closing mass. I also want to announce that three other faculty members and I have organized a trip to Italy for twenty- four students who will be selected from among the entire student body with a bias toward Grades 12 and 11 and an openness to Grades 10 and 9.
The trip will depart Winnipeg 25 March and return 6 April, 2009. We will begin visiting important Jesuit and other sites in Venice, Verona, Vinci, Siena, Maranello, Florence, Rome and finally the Amalfi coast. For those interested in what promises to be a fantastic Spring Break trip, please follow the links on the St Paul’s website homepage. Our first information evening will be in June.
Come help us celebrate this Year of St Paul.
Below is a preliminary itinerary of the trip for those who may be interested. There is also an Intent Form that can be filled out and submitted electronically or printed and handed in. Please fill out the form if you would like for your son to be considered for the trip. More details will be given at a information session for parents sometime in June.
