NewsKlassen and MacCharles pace Crusaders in Cross Country Opener

Despite going the wrong way, new Crusader Isaiah Klassen caught and passed all runners on his way to winning the first cross country race of the year held at Assiniboine Park.

Grade ten student Riley MacCharles won the Junior Varsity race making this the first time Crusader athletes have won both individual titles at a WWAC meet. In the team competition the Junior Varsity team won the meet by placing 5 runners in the top 11. Chris Schmidt (5th), Alex Izydorczyk (8th), Matt Deleau (9th) and Will Toni (11th) led the Crusaders.

In the varsity category the Crusaders placed a close second to Vincent Massey despite missing several key runners to the football game. In all, a record 50 plus crusader runners participated in the meet. Full results to be posted soon.
