Dear St Paul’s Community,
The dedicated collaboration of the Building and Grounds Committee, realizing Fr Fogarty’s hope to renew the 1963 school building, began three years ago with two completely new sections of the roof being replaced in the Monaghan Wing and the Gym. Last summer asbestos was removed from the front office area of the school culminating with this summer’s project which turned out to be one of the busiest renovation periods in St Paul’s High School’s 46 year history.
The main quad area of the school (hallways and classrooms) underwent a huge makeover of the ceilings to remove asbestos and replace with tile and energy-efficient lighting. With last year’s renovations included, project costs neared $1 million. This year’s Phase 2 renovations started mid June and finishing touches completed at the end of August. As you can see from the photos we, at times, felt like we were in a sci-fi movie. Thank you to all who had to navigate around the construction zone for your patience and to the custodians who have the school shining as we await opening day. The timely completion of the project would not have been possible without the disciplined management of John Ostermann, Manager of Building & Grounds.
