Crusader Raffle 2009 Prize Winners!

Thank you to all who purchased tickets and volunteered their time to make the 2009 Crusader Raffle a success. This year, Crusader Raffle ticket revenue was more than $111,000 exceeding our goal of $105,000!

At 3:00 pm today, Wednesday, January 13, 2010, the prize winners in the 2009 Crusader Raffle were drawn as follows:

  • $10,000 – Nancy Ruiter
  • $5,000  –  Carol Boyle
  • $2,000  – Sylvia Samson
  • $1,000  –  Barb Lockhart
  • $1,000  – R. Marcelino
  • $1,000  – P. Alto

The Crusader Raffle is the one time in the year when all students and parents are asked to take an active volunteer role in a specific fundraising campaign. The proceeds from the annual Crusader Raffle help the students of today and tomorrow by funding current student activities and programs and by supporting the Bursary Program.

The success of the 2009 Crusader Raffle was made possible through the support of students, parents, alumni and friends of St Paul’s.

A big thank you to:

Thank you to our Parents, who support the Raffle by volunteering to staff ticket selling booths in shopping malls and by encouraging their sons to get out and sell tickets.

Thank you to the K-8 parochial schools who sell tickets and share the proceeds of those sales. Schools participating in 2009 were Immaculate Heart of Mary, Our Lady of Victory, St Gerard’s, St Emile and St John Brebeuf.

Thank you to Mr Greg Leipsic ’86 for his leadership in service as the Chair of the 2009 Raffle.

Thank you to Horizon Insurance and Ryan Gateway Insurance. They offered the Crusader Raffle tickets to their clients through over-the-counter sales at their many retail locations. (www.horizoninsurance.ca)

Thank you also to Mark Chipman ’78 and the Manitoba Moose for supporting the Raffle by permitting Crusader students and parents to set up and sell tickets at Moose games at the MTS Centre this fall. (www.moosehockey.com)

Thank you to the St Paul’s Student Council for implementing a student incentive program.

Thank you to all faculty and staff of St Paul’s, especially our home room teachers, for encouraging student sales and giving up valuable time to promote this year’s campaign.

Thank you again to all who purchased tickets and volunteered their time to make the 2009 Crusader Raffle a success!
