St Paul’s High School is pleased to announce that Fr Alan Fogarty SJ, President of St Paul’s High School, will be presented The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal by the Honourable Joyce Bateman PC MP at a ceremony on Friday, 8 February, 2013.

“Through his tireless efforts Fr Fogarty has made a lasting impact on St Paul’s and on our entire community.  I have seen firsthand the exponential and positive impact his students have had on our community as a result of his dedicated leadership,” said MP Bateman.

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s accession to the throne, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal honours exceptional Canadians who have made significant contributions to their communities. The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal is a tangible way for Canada to honour Her Majesty for her service to this country. At the same time, it serves to honour significant contributions and achievements by Canadians.

“I am deeply honoured and humbled to receive this prestigious recognition.  I feel truly blessed to have been a member of this community and to be able to work as a Jesuit priest in service along side so many great individuals,” said Fr Alan Fogarty SJ. 

On 22 December, Fr Alan J Fogarty SJ, was formally appointed President of the Gregorian University Foundation and member of the Roman Delegation of the Society of Jesus.  The President of the Gregorian University Foundation oversees the fundraising operations of the Consortium of three Jesuit institutes of higher education in Rome:  the Pontifical Gregorian University, the Pontifical Biblical Institute and the Pontifical Oriental Institute.  Fr Fogarty will begin his new roles and responsibilities once his term as President of St Paul’s High School is completed on 31 July 2013.
