At our regular staff meeting today we announced that Mr Tom Lussier will be stepping down as Principal at the end of this school year. Mr Lussier generously accepted to serve a second term as Principal at the request of Fr Fogarty in large part because of the initiation of the capital campaign to build the MultiPlex. That second term comes to an end this year and Mr Lussier will move into a two-year sabbatical period corresponding to his two terms as Principal. He, of course, will be welcomed back to St Paul’s as a teacher at the end of that sabbatical.
On behalf of the entire St Paul’s school community I extend to Mr Lussier our deepest gratitude for his generosity, his competent leadership, his wise guidance and his loyal service over these past ten years, not to mention the previous twenty years of service as a teacher. At the appropriate time we will have much more to say in expressing our gratitude.
The process of searching for a replacement will begin very soon with the establishment of a search committee, the placing of ads, and so on. Our desire is to have the new Principal named by the spring and to arrange for a smooth transition by the end of the school year.
Mr Lussier has written a letter to the school community which you can read by clicking here.
Again our profound thanks to Mr Lussier. And thank you all for your continuing support of St Paul’s
In the Lord,
Fr Leonard Altilia SJ
