NewsCrusader Track shines at WWAC

Over several days last week, the Crusader Track and Field team participated in the West Winnipeg Athletic Conference Track and Field meet.

The Crusaders came away with some stellar performances including capturing the Junior Varsity WWAC title.

Leading the Junior Varsity team was Stefan Hreno who placed 2nd in the 100m and 200m, and 3rd in long jump.Trevor Wright placed 2nd in the high jump and 4th in the 100m. In the shot put Regan Roche and Jacob Stevens placed 1st and 2nd. Luc Deleau won the 400m, and Will Koltek placed 1st in the 3000m. Rounding out the scoring for the Cru were Byrce Stubbings - 3rd 800m, and Hadrian Bourdon - 2nd in the discus.

In Varsity action, grade 11 speedster James Teschuk blazed his way to a win in the 200m, then placed 2nd in the 400m. Shiloh Johnson placed 3rd in the 800m and 1500m. Graham Lock finished 2nd the 3000m. Brendan Naujoks (3rd - 100m) and Billy Yaworski (3rd - High Jump) finished out the scoring for the Cru.

All these athletes have qualified for the Provincial Track and Field Championships to be held June 5th, 6th, and 7th at the University of Manitoba.
