On Thursday, June 17 over 132 devices tuned in to watch From Dark to Light, a Virtual Fashion Show in Support of the Magis Fund, meaning over 300 guests attended this year’s fashion show from the comfort of their own home!
Because of you - our viewers, sponsors, and community members; over $40,000 was raised in support of the Magis Fund.
The evening was kicked off with a delightful screenplay written by St. Paul’s own, Dr. Victoria McMahon, and brought to life on screen by our students – viewers laughed at the quirky retake of a Monty Python classic and appreciated the comical journey through the music, art, and culture of the Renaissance.
Viewers were later tantalized by a TikTok fashion show. Student models not only showcased the hottest trends for summer, they DJ’d the show and brought some impressive video editing skills to the table – which became the perfect representation of our student’s bright future ahead juxtaposed against the Renaissance.
James Brennan ’21, then brought it all home by reminding us of our reason for gathering, The Magis Fund, which provides financial assistance to students who cannot otherwise participate in school life fully.
And for the finale, students thanked their parents and teachers for helping them become formed as Men for Others, they reminisced over memories had at St. Paul’s, and most importantly, they shared how they will write their book of life; just as William Shakespeare wrote Hamlet – the first great work of all literature to truly show the human condition.
Since launching yesterday evening, From Dark to Light has been viewed 383 times, with a total of 124 hours of watch-time.
This successful evening could not be done without the very important contribution of the 47+ corporate and individual sponsors who continue to support our community and the Magis Fund.
The Fashion Show would not be possible without the support of the St. Paul's High School Parent Guild and the wonderful parent volunteer committee who dedicate countless hours to make the Fashion Show one of the best events of the year, and for that, we are truly grateful.

"Magis" is a Latin word that means "more" or "better." In particular, it refers to the Ignatian philosophy of doing more for Christ, and thus, for others.
The annual St. Paul's High School Fashion Show generates revenue for the Magis Fund. Established in 2010, this fund provides financial assistance to students who cannot otherwise afford to fully participate in school life. Band instrument rentals, sports equipment, tutors, school trips, school attire, bus tickets, lunch money, and graduation costs are some of the many areas of need supported by the Magis Fund.
The Magis Fund compliments the bursary program and the long-standing Jesuit tradition of helping any student and family in need. Through your attendance and support of the Fashion Show, you help change a life.
