From the St. Paul's Student Council: The Walk

On Thursday, September 21st, students from St. Paul’s, St. Mary’s Academy and Balmoral Hall School will participate in the 45th Annual Walk to raise funds for The Link: Youth and Family Supports, specifically their Mobile Crisis Team that supports youth and families with safety and mental health concerns. The St. Paul’s Student Council has been hard at work over the summer preparing for a fun-filled day!

An online permission form was sent to all parents and is also located at the bottom of this message. This form must be completed in order for students to participate on September 21st. The $12 Walk fee and optional Walk sweater purchase may be paid online when filling out the permission form, however, Permission Click does charge a 5–7% service fee for all online payments. As an alternative, payment may be made either by cash or cheque. Cheques should be made out to St. Paul’s High School. Please have your son deliver his payment to Room 127 during the lunch hour starting September 8th. Please email krellinger@stpauls.mb.ca if you experience technical issues.

Please note: all students are required to submit the permission form and the $12.00 fee through online or in-person payment by 3:15 pm on Friday, September 15th. This flat fee will help cover the cost of refreshments along the Walk route (candy, ice cream, etc.) as well as entertainment and activities throughout the day. Food will be available to be purchased on site from food trucks and/or the cafeteria for an additional fee.

This year, Student Council will be fundraising for The Link: Youth and Family Supports. All funds collected will be directly donated and allocated to The Link’s Mobile Crisis Team, a service that supports youth and families with safety and mental health concerns. Students are encouraged to collect cash or cheque donations from their communities and complete the “Pledge Form”. This can be found in the parent/guardian email received on September 7th or picked up in person from Ms. Rellinger. Cheques for donation should be made out to “The Link: Youth and Family Supports Corporation”. Completed forms and collected donations are to be brought to your son’s core group teachers by September 15th. Students who raise more than $100 will receive a Walk sweater, free of charge.

Below are a few reminders for your son on the Walk Day:

  • Dress code: relaxed dress code is in effect for the day. Please dress for the weather (rain or shine) and in shoes comfortable for walking.
  • Students may bring their lunch from home or purchase food from food trucks or the cafeteria using cash or debit.
  • Students are welcome to perform in the afternoon at The Walk but must sign up by September 15th. A link to the sign-up Form can be found on Teams or accessed through QR codes around the school.

Click HERE to access the permission form.

If you have any questions about The Walk, please contact Ms. Keana Rellinger.

Yours in spirit,

Welcome back everyone! The Cru Shoppe is always happy to welcome volunteers both over the lunch hour and occasionally in the evening for special events. No experience is necessary, and it is a wonderful way to get involved in the school and to meet new parents. I am looking forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new parents. Please use the link HERE to sign up for upcoming shifts.

Thank you,

Welcome to all the new parents who have sons starting in grade 9 this year and welcome back to our grade 10–12 parents. Please take the time over the next few weeks to skim over the Parent Guild Handbook and consider signing up to become a volunteer in the school. It's a fun and rewarding experience watching the boys and staff in action. There are a variety of opportunities and various times in the day or evening throughout the year.

Grade 10–12 Parents
