There were some great performances on day 1 of the MHSAA Provincial High School track and field championships. But the one that stood out the most was the performance by St. Paul's Junior Varsity relay team. The team of Hayes McMillan (400m), Ethan Robson (200m), Folajimi Bankole (200m) and Noah Neves (800M) took an incredible 8 seconds off the 32 year old provincial record. 

Running in near perfect conditions the Cru led from start to finish ending with a time of 3:38.79. The old record was set in 1989 by Grant Park high school with a time of 3:46.37. 

Other strong performances by the Cru were Luke Bowes and Folajimi Bankole qualifying for the final in the JV 100m.

Michael Uzonna and Grant White also qualifed for the Varsity 100m final. 

James Chapman placed 1st overall in the JV shot put qualifying.  

Brandon Kubay and Eze Wachukwu qualifed for the JV long jump final. 

Draycen Ralph placed 4th, Adam Smith 7th, and Sean Ehmann 8th in the JV 1500m final. 

Wylie Garchinski 8th in the Varsity 1500m final.

Noah Neves and Hayes McMillan advanced to the JV 400m final.
