Happy Mother's Day

On behalf of the St. Paul's High School Community, we wish a Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers in our school community. The following prayer is  offered in honour of all mothers.

A Prayer in Gratitude for Our Mothers
Good and Gentle God, we pray in gratitude for our mothers and for all the women who have joined with you in the wonder of bringing forth new life. You who became human through a woman, grant to all mothers the courage they need to face the uncertain future that life with children always brings.

Give them the strength to live and to be loved in return, not perfectly, but humanly. Give them the faithful support of husband, family and friends as they care for the physical and spiritual growth of their children. Give them joy and delight in their children to sustain them through the trials of motherhood. Most of all, give them the wisdom to turn to you for help when they need it most. Amen.

Moose Hide Campaign: Thursday, 15 May

On Thursday, May 15th, St. Paul’s will take part in the Moose Hide Campaign, a national movement of Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians standing up against violence toward women and children (https://moosehidecampaign.ca/). The campaign began with a small piece of moose hide and a big idea: that men and boys must play a key role in ending gender-based violence. By wearing a moose hide pin, individuals show their commitment to honour, respect, and protect the women and children in their lives. The initiative will take place during the morning from 8:00–8:40 AM with opportunities to learn how we can all contribute to a safer, more respectful community through picking up a pin with an information card attached. This is a free event, and all students are encouraged to participate and pick up a moose hide pin during the morning or throughout the day via the library, to show their support.

Friday, 16 May – No School

No classes due to professional development day.

Upcoming Oral French Language Exams for Grade 9–11 Students

We would like to inform you about an essential upcoming event for your sons enrolled in both Basic and Advanced French courses grades 9 to 11.

From May 26th to June 10th, our school will be conducting intensive preparation sessions and oral exams for French language proficiency. It is crucial that your sons attend school regularly during this period to adequately prepare for and present their oral exams.

These oral exams not only contribute significantly to their overall French language proficiency assessment but also offer invaluable opportunities for practical language application and skill development.

Your support in ensuring your sons' attendance and readiness for these exams is greatly appreciated. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter.

Thank you for your cooperation and continued support of your sons' education.

Regards,

St. Paul’s French Department

InformNet Courses for Current Grade 12 students

Please note that grades for courses taken via InformNet will appear on a student's final high school transcript, however, they did not appear on the interim grade request from local universities because they are not St. Paul's courses. This means that when St. Paul's submitted grades to U of M and U of W Admissions in April, students' InformNet courses were not included. Given that Admissions uses interim grades to assess students' eligibility for admission, students will need to request InformNet to submit their interim grades to the UM/UW Undergraduate Admissions offices ASAP if they would like them considered.

Parent Information Meeting: 2026 Camino Ignaciano Pilgrimage

We are excited to share an opportunity for students to participate in a meaningful spiritual and educational experience as part of their Grade 12 Religion requirement during the 2025–2026 school year.

Students who either attended the recent information session or indicated the Camino Ignaciano as their first or second choice for Religion next year are invited, along with their parents, to an information evening on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the Aulneau Room at St. Paul’s High School.

The Camino Ignaciano Pilgrimage will take place over Spring Break 2026 (March 27–April 7). The route traces the steps of St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus, through significant sites where he lived, served, and was himself a pilgrim. Learn more about the route at caminoignaciano.org.

This program integrates a Grade 12 Religion course with a unique travel experience in Spain:

  • Students will walk five of the thirty stages of the 700 km pilgrimage (approx. 150 km).

  • The group will be led by St. Paul’s staff and Fr. Josep Lluís Iriberri, SJ, the Jesuit Director of the Camino.

  • Students will complete 15 hours of classroom instruction prior to departure, with the remaining instructional time completed on the journey and upon return.

  • Successful completion will fulfill the Grade 12 Religion 41S (0.5 credit) requirement.

The estimated cost of the experience is $4,500–$5,000, covering all transportation, accommodations, and meals during the pilgrimage.

Families are asked to complete the expression of interest form with their son by Wednesday, May 14, 2025: We hope you will consider this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that connects faith, history, and personal growth.
