From the Counselling Department

Counselling News

In the first weeks of September, the Counselling Department will be meeting students for course changes and for any student requested appointments.  Our next priority is to meet with every grade 12 student to discuss post-secondary plans and to ensure our seniors are in the appropriate classes for their future plans.  Counsellors will schedule these meetings but, as always, will accept appointment requests from students in all grade levels.

Parents of Grade 12 students:

The grade 12 class will attend a presentation about university and scholarships on Tuesday, September 16th.  The presentation will focus on basic university terminology, how to apply for university, important deadlines, scholarships, out of province applications, and many other topics dealing with post-secondary studies.

A video of the presentation will be made available to all grade twelve parents later in September.

Parents of Grade Nine Students:

New Cru Day was a great success.  The students competed against other homeroom classes in gym games, participated in team-building activities, and had school tours.  It was a fun day of meeting new people and getting acclimated to the school.  We are looking forward to two more days of social interaction with Grade 9 Camp Day next week and The Walk on Sept. 18th.

New Cru Day T-shirts can be worn all year as the uniform for gym class.
