Grade Nine and Ten Exam Study Schedules

Study schedules were distributed to grade nine students and posted on Teams for grade ten students last week.  These schedules are intended to help students organize their time before their upcoming exams.

Exams

As exams approach, it’s important to remember that they’re just one part of your son’s learning journey. Encourage him to focus on what he’s gaining through the process rather than the end result. Staying calm and reassuring him that these tests are not the 'be-all and end-all' can ease pressure and help him stay motivated. Let’s celebrate effort and growth, not the grades—it’s the learning that matters most.

Parents of Grade 11 Students

Shared with students last week:  Students interested in touring the University of Alberta (Camrose Campus) can apply for the U of A Getaway  Explore the campus, learn about programs, experience U of A student life, site-see in the city, and meet other students from across Canada.  20 students will be selected to participate.  Transportation paid up to $500 and all other expenses/meals/accommodations are covered.

When: May 22 - 24, 2026

Where: University of Alberta Augustana Campus in Camrose, Alberta

Scholarships

The Western National Scholarship Program is due to Ms Kolton by noon on Feb. 4th to be considered for school sponsorship.

Local Universities Application Date

The Early Admissions deadline for local universities has passed.  The regular application due date for the University of Manitoba and the University of Winnipeg is March 1st.

Online Courses

Students in any grade interested in taking online classes in semester two should register now as classes are 90% full.  Courses are offered by the provincial government through InformNet.  Students taking online courses are still required to take a full course load at St. Paul's and students are cautioned that the courses will not cover the topics with the same academic rigor as St. Paul's, so a student may find it difficult to proceed in that subject at St. Paul's the following year.  For example, grade 11 online PreCal does not guarantee that a student is prepared to take gr. 12 PreCal at St. Paul's.

Some university programs will not accept courses for admission if they are not completed at the student’s high school, so students are encouraged to check eligibility carefully if they are hoping to use grade 12 InformNet courses for university admission.

Online courses are also available through InformNet in the summer.

Ingenious Youth Innovation Grants

Shared with all students last week:  Students aged 14-18 who are working on a project that helps the community can apply for $1000 of funding with Ingenious Youth Grants.  The eligible categories are: Climate change and the environment, Health and Well-Being, Equity and Inclusion, Community and Civic Engagement, and Technology and Entrepreneurship.  Individual or team (up to 4 people) proposals are acceptable.  Applications are due January 23, 2026.  Application Information
