2010 Ignatian Challenge Award Tribute Dinner

St Paul's initiated the Ignatian Challenge Awards in 1994 in order to recognize individuals within our community who embrace the ideals of St Ignatius Loyola and who reflect the characteristics and qualities inherent in a Jesuit education at St Paul's High School. Award recipients, through their leadership and commitment to service, become examples for our students of a lived faith and philosophy of becoming men and women for others. The awards are bestowed annually at the St Paul's High School Tribute Dinner.

St Paul's President Fr Alan Fogarty SJ is pleased to announce that Dr Peter MacDonald '76, internationally recognized as one of the foremost orthopedic surgeons, is the 2010 Ignatian Challenge Award Honouree. "It is a great pleasure to have Dr MacDonald as our 2010 Honouree. Dr MacDonald's reputation as a world class surgeon and his impact on the medical community locally, nationally and internationally is a true testament to his passion and brilliance in his field" said Fr Fogarty this February.

Through his surgical procedures, lectures as a professor or his dynamic and often groundbreaking research, Dr MacDonald's service has improved the quality of life for many patients and exemplifies what it means to be a Man for Others.

The proceeds of the annual Tribute Dinner support the Bursary Fund, an essential aspect of a Jesuit education at St Paul's High School. Proceeds from this year's event will support the newly established D.I. & Peggy MacDonald Bursary, a fund created in honour of Dr MacDonald's parents. All students and the entire school community benefit from your generosity in support of the Tribute Dinner and the Bursary Fund.
