About Dr. Eddsel Martinez
Dr Eddsel Martinez is general pediatrician in Winnipeg. He was born in El Salvador and immigrated to Canada with his family during the civil war at the age of 14. Thanks to the bursary fund, Eddsel was able to attend St Paul’s High School and graduated in 1995. Eddsel has been practicing general pediatrics for 18 years as a partner at Sterling Lyon Pediatrics. He is a preceptor with the University of Manitoba school of medicine providing onsite pediatric teaching for medical students and residents. He is a member of the Canadian Pediatric Society and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Eddsel is an active board member for St. Amant and sits on the Public Education Advisory Committee for the Canadian Pediatric Society. He is married and has two children. In his downtime, Eddsel enjoys playing competitive Ultimate Frisbee. He is the official pediatrician for the Winnipeg Jets and is an avid fan.
The Evening’s Focus
This special event will offer alumni the opportunity to hear firsthand about Dr. Martinez’s journey from St. Paul’s to a successful career in pediatrics. His reflections will touch on his career, life experiences, and the importance of community and professional development.
