The Freshman Retreat: 2023

All grade nine students will attend the Freshman Retreat which begins on the evening of Thursday, 7 December. Students should leave school at the end of the school day on Thursday as retreat preparations will take place at that time. Students are expected to be at the school to participate in retreat activities during the following times. Please use the Student Entrance.

  • Thursday, 7 December: 6:00–10:30 p.m.
  • Friday, 8 December: 7:30 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.

There are NO CLASSES scheduled on Friday, 8 December due to the retreat. Instead, we are following a special retreat schedule which involves the entire grade 9 class, along with grade 10 & 11 grounds crew members, and grade 12 leaders.

Grade 9 parents have been sent separate email communications with further details about the retreat. Questions about the retreat should be addressed to the retreat director, Jason Hurton.

St. Paul's Scholarship Database

Our very own William Hudson (class of 2024) has built St. Paul's a private scholarship database that will be searchable for our students only. We will update the site regularly as new scholarships become available.  The site provides the ability to search using various key words and is very user friendly. Grade twelve students were sent information about the site on Teams on Wednesday, November 29th.

There are many scholarships available at University of Western Ontario that students have been made aware of.  Scholarship information can be found at:  Scholarships at Western.

Students may also be interested in the Hellmuth Scholarship at Huron which is on the Western campus.

University of Calgary offers high school entrance awards that have an application date of March 1st, 2024.

Schulich Scholarships are awarded to entrepreneurial-minded high school graduates enrolling in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math program at 20 partner universities across Canada. Half are valued at $120,000 for engineering scholarships and half are valued at $100,000 for science and math scholarships. St. Paul's can nominate one graduating student each year to apply for the scholarship.  Applications are due to Ms Kolton January 22, 2024 to be considered for school nomination. Check the eligibility criteria carefully.

Mission Week: Inner City Youth Alive (ICYA)

We thank our entire school community for their contributions to our first mission week in support of ICYA. Thank you for participating in the casual days and for your donations of food items. We are also grateful to all the guest presenters that joined our community to provide engaging learning sessions for students and staff on Wednesday, November 29th, and for the outstanding leadership and service demonstrated by the Maroon & White.

Advent Music Concert

Congratulations to Mr Giovanni Verrelli, Mr Denis Costa, Mr Paulo Borges, Mr Laurence Broadhurst, and all of the students who performed in the bands and choirs at our annual Advent Music Concert on Tuesday, 28 November. It was a wonderful evening of music, song, and scripture, and a great way to prepare for Advent.
