Semester 1 Exams and Transition to Semester 2

Semester 1 Exams Continue: 29–31 January, 2024

Exam Review Day and Deadline for Submitting Incomplete Work: Thursday, 1 February, 2024

  • 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
  • Dress Code: Casual
  • Teacher locations will be posted in the school. 

Recovery Learning

  • Students with Semester 1 academic failures will be required to attend recovery learning sessions.
    Recovery Learning for Semester 1 courses will occur on the following dates: February 2, 7, 12, 13, and 21, 2024. Further details to come. 
  • Counsellors will contact students to inform them of academic failures and assist students in planning for credit recovery. 

First day of Semester 2 Classes: Monday, 5 February

Semester 1 Report Cards Mailed: Tuesday, 6 February

The PowerSchool Portal will be closed to students and parents during exams and until semester 1 marks are finalized and report cards are printed.

Western University Applicants

Is your son going to WESTERN next year? Students with a 90% average in grade 12 can apply for the National Scholarship Program at Western. This is several scholarships using one application.  Applications are due to Ms Kolton by noon on February 2nd to be considered for school sponsorship. Applications for school nominated candidates is February 14th.

Volunteer Opportunity

Interested in Volunteering or Leadership Training?  Check out Manitoba A.L.I.V.E.

  • Cost: free

WHO’S ELIGIBLE?

Grade 10 and 11 students with involvement or interest in volunteerism are invited to apply with the recommendation of a teacher, principal, or guidance counsellor.

HOW TO APPLY - PLEASE MAKE YOUR INTEREST KNOWN TO YOUR GUIDANCE COUNSELLOR.

Students will access and complete the online application form.

Students will be asked to provide one reference letter.

Scholarship Opportunity

Did your son attend Winnipeg Mennonite School (WMS)?

There is a $1000 scholarship for students who attended WMS who are now moving on to post-secondary study. Applications open Feb. 15th.

SAVE THE DATE - SPHS 37th Annual Fashion Show – Takin’ It To The Streets

St. Paul’s High School is proud to present Taking it to the Streets, it’s 37th Annual Fashion Show on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at the Victoria Inn & Conference Centre. This event promotes the latest fashions from local retailers in coordination with Swish Modelling Agency, auctions and prizes from local businesses, and student volunteers to create a lively and entertaining show. This event is in support of the Magis Fund, a fund that provides financial assistance to students who require support to ensure that they can be full participants in school life.

The Fashion Show Committee is currently soliciting prize donations for Live, Silent or Rainbow Auctions. For your donation, you/your business will receive recognition on signage at the event, and have your brand in front of parents, alumni, and local business owners.
