Tuesday, November 10: Remembrance Day Service

Lest We Forget

Our school's annual Remembrance Day Service will occur on Tuesday, November 10 at 8:40 am. Students should report to their core group locations at 8:25 am and wait to be called to the MultiPlex. Schedule V and Dress Code V are both in effect. As a reminder, Dress Code V is Regular Dress Code with the additional requirement of a standard necktie or bowtie.

Importance of Remembrance

While November is recognized as a time of Remembrance for many across Canada, Remembrance is a year-long commitment. There are many opportunities available to anyone wishing to show their appreciation for those who served. Most importantly, we should all take a moment now and then to reflect on the freedoms and peace in our lives, to remember the men and women who served and sacrificed for all we have today, and to pray for peace and eternal rest for all who lost their lives protecting the freedoms of Canadians. Lest We Forget.

Prayer Requests

The Church has dedicated November as a time of prayer for the deceased. If you have any deceased friends or family members you would like to be remembered in prayer at the weekday liturgies at the school, feel free to send an email to Fr. Con Mulvihill, St. Paul's High School Chaplain, at cmulvihill@stpauls.mb.ca

The names of senders and of the deceased will be confidential.

Thursday, November 19 - Parent Teacher Conferences

Tuesday, November 24 – Advent Band Concert

Volunteer Opportunities:

Parent Teacher Conferences – Thursday, November 19/26

We need one volunteer to help set up the hospitality tables for Parent Teacher Conferences. This is an afternoon shift (3:30-4:30) so if you plan to be in school meeting with teachers around this time, please consider this volunteer spot! Click HERE to sign up!

Nearly New Sale – Thursday, November 19/26

We are looking for 4 more parent volunteers to set-up, work and then clean up the Nearly New Sale afterwards. This sale is the same evening as the Parent Teacher Conferences so if you are in the school to meet with teachers, please consider signing up for one of the posted opportunities. There are three shifts 3:30-5:30 (2 volunteers still needed), 5:30-7:30 (2 volunteers still needed). Click HERE to sign up!

Advent Band Concert – Tuesday, November 24/26 - CALLING ON PARENTS OF BAND STUDENTS!

Five volunteers are still needed to fill the two evening volunteers shifts for the Advent Band Concert on Tuesday, November 24, 2026. This is a special event that the SPHS community loves. We get such a great turnout. The set-up shift is from 6:00-7:30 (all parents are welcome to volunteer but if you are attending the Advent Band Concert, please consider this shift). The second shift is for Parents of Band Concert students – this is the clean-up shift. We are asking that since parents are already at the school watching their sons, that some of you come to the Cafeteria at the end of the Concert and help clean-up. The clean-up shift will end around 9:30 (or when everything is cleaned up). On SignUp, parents will see the second shift starts at 8:00 but it will start whenever the Concert ends. No one will miss any of the performances. Please help if you can. Click HERE to sign up!
